Dear Parents and Guardians
Chi Miigwech for all your hard work in helping to make the transition back to on site instruction a success for the past two weeks. We appreciate all your support of the changes in our daily routines and procedures. In order to allow students regular breaks from mask wearing, elementary students will be having outdoor recess everyday. Please make sure students are dressed appropriately for the weather.
As a reminder, students that are home sick with any symptoms that are included in the category of COVID-19, will need to submit to a COVID-19 rapid test to return to school within the 10 day contagious period. Parents and families are asked to contact the Sawyer County hotline, report that they are a student at the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe school and request rapid Covid-19 testing at the Lac Courte Oreilles Health Center. Once confirmation of a confirmed negative test is received, usually within a day or two, students are welcome to return to school. We understand the added stress that this requirement puts on families. We are doing everything we can to educate students on healthy practices, hand washing, social distancing and staying safe. Please communicate with the school about barriers you may be experiencing in accessing testing.
